2 Notification Data โ€” How It Works

Aura uses the Android NotificationListenerService โ€” a standard Android system service โ€” to capture incoming notifications from other apps on your device.

What we capture per notification:

What we explicitly do NOT capture:

Local storage: All captured notification data is saved to a local Android Room Database on your device. This database is sandboxed to the app โ€” other apps cannot access it. You can delete all stored data at any time via Settings โ†’ Security & Privacy โ†’ Delete All Local Data.

How to revoke access: Go to Android Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Special App Access โ†’ Notification Access โ†’ Aura and disable it at any time.

3 Gemini AI Processing

When you tap "Generate Digest", Aura sends a structured prompt to Google Gemini 1.5 Flash AI via the Google Generative AI SDK. This prompt contains:

Google processes this data to return a categorized JSON summary. This request is:

Offline fallback: When there is no internet connection, Aura uses a completely on-device keyword grouping algorithm. No data leaves your device in this mode.

Free usage limit: Free users have a daily limit on AI digest generations. Pro users have unlimited access.

4 Advertising (AdMob & GDPR/CCPA Consent)

The free version of Aura displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (Banner and Interstitial ads). Aura Pro subscribers are completely ad-free.

We use Google User Messaging Platform (UMP SDK) to obtain your advertising consent in compliance with GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California). Before any personalized ads are shown to users in the EU/EEA or California, you will be presented with a consent form.

You can change your advertising choices at any time via Settings โ†’ GDPR & CCPA Privacy Consent inside the app.

5 Analytics & Crash Reporting

Aura integrates Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand how the app is used and to fix bugs quickly.

Firebase Analytics collects:

Firebase Crashlytics collects:

All Firebase data is governed by Google Firebase Privacy Policy โ†’

6 Biometric Data

Aura offers an optional Biometric App Lock feature (fingerprint and face unlock) powered by the Android BiometricPrompt API and AndroidX Biometrics library.

Important:

7 In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Aura offers two optional Pro subscription plans (monthly_pro and yearly_pro) processed entirely through Google Play Billing.

For payment-related queries, refer to Google Play Purchase Support โ†’

8 Data Retention & Deletion

Aura stores notification data locally on your device only. There is no server-side retention of your notification content.

How to delete your data:

This deletion right is compliant with GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure) and the CCPA Right to Delete.

9 Children's Privacy

Aura is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through Aura, please contact us at greene.pte@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

10 Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Our legal basis for processing notification data is Legitimate Interest (providing the core AI digest service you requested) and Consent (for advertising, where applicable).

Data Controller: PTE Team ยท Email: greene.pte@gmail.com

11 Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

We do not sell your personal information as defined by CCPA. The Advertising ID used by AdMob may be shared with advertising partners under certain consent conditions, which you control via the in-app GDPR/CCPA form.

12 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features, legal requirements, or our privacy practices. When we make significant changes, we will:

Continued use of Aura after the updated policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
